Abstract
Değerler Eğitimi müfredatta ilk defa, 2017 Türkçe Dersi Öğretim Programı’nda yer almış, 2019 Türkçe Dersi Öğretim Programı’nda da; ’adalet, dostluk, dürüstlük, öz denetim, sabır, saygı, sevgi, sorumluluk, vatanseverlik ve yardımseverlik’ olarak belirlenen 10 kök değere yer verilmiştir. Buket Uzuner’in Ah Bir Kedi Olsam adlı eserindeki edebî niteliği ve kök değerleri belirlemeyi amaç edinen bu çalışmada, nitel araştırma yöntemi benimsenmiş, veriler doküman incelemesi tekniği ile elde edilmiştir. Buket Uzuner, eserinde kedi sahibi olmayı çok isteyen bir çocuğun, bir veterinerden kedi edinmesini, onunla ve aile büyükleri ile olan sevgi paylaşımını anlatırken çocuk gerçekliğini vermeyi; Hızır Baba, Umay Nine, Ülgen Dede gibi kültürel miras ögelerini hatırlatmayı; Alice Harikalar Diyarında, Peter Pan, Örümcek Adam gibi bilinen eserlere gönderme yaparak okuru başka kitaplara yönlendirmeyi de ihmal etmemiştir. Yazar, eserinde adalet ve vatanseverlik hariç 8 kök değere yer vermiştir. Eserde en yoğun işlenen değer sevgi değeridir. Sorumluluk ve dostluk değeri de sıkça karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Sevgi, sorumluluk ve dostluk değerinin bir eserde ön planda olması bu değerlerin aynı zamanda birbiriyle ilişkili, birbirini destekleyen değerler olduğunu göstermektedir. Iowa Üniversitesi tarafından onursal akademisyen yazar seçilen Buket Uzuner’in çocuklar için kaleme aldığı tek eseri Ah Bir Kedi Olsam adlı eseridir. Değer eğitiminde, değer ihtiva eden metinlerin okutulması önemli bir yer tuttuğu için edebîlikten ödün vermeyen, değerlerin içine ustaca yerleştirildiği kitapların tespit edilmesi de son derece önemlidir. Edebî yönden sağlam oluşu ve içerdiği kök değerler nedeniyle bu kitap değer eğitiminde kullanılabilecek bir eserdir.

Abstract
Values Education was included in the 2017 Turkish Curriculum for the first time in the curriculum, and in the 2019 Turkish Curriculum; 10 root values determined as 'justice, friendship, honesty, self-control, patience, respect, love, responsibility, patriotism and benevolence' are included. In this study, which aims to determine the literary quality and root values in Buket Uzuner's work called Ah Bir Kedi Olsam, qualitative research method was adopted and the data were obtained by document analysis technique. In her work, Buket Uzuner tells about a child who very much wants to have a cat, getting a cat from a veterinarian, and sharing the love with it and his family elders; to remind cultural heritage items such as Father Hızır, Grandmother Umay, Grandfather Ülgen; she did not neglect to direct the reader to other books by referring to known works such as Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan and Spider-Man. The author has included 8 fundamental values in her work, excluding justice and patriotism. The most intensely processed value in the work is the value of love. Responsibility and friendship values are also frequently encountered. The fact that the values of love, responsibility and friendship are at the forefront in a work shows that these values are also interrelated and supporting each other. Chosen as an honorary academic writer by the University of Iowa, Buket Uzuner's only work written for children is Ah Bir Kedi Olsam. In value education, it is extremely important to identify the books that do not compromise on literary quality, and where the values are skillfully placed, since reading the texts that contain values has an important place. This book is a work that can be used in values education because of its soundness in terms of literature and the root values it contains.
