Abstract
Yukarı Çukurova olarak adlandırılan bir bölgede yer alan Osmaniye iline bağlı Düziçi ilçesi, tarih boyunca birçok Türk boyuna ev sahipliği yapmıştır. Bu özelliğinden dolayı Türk kültür unsurları, yörede varlığını geçmişten bugüne sürdürmüştür. Eski Türk inanç sisteminin sembolleri de bu kültür unsurlarının içinde önemli bir yere sahiptir. Düziçi ilçesinde yaptığımız incelemelerde, eski Türk inanç kültürü sembollerinin eskiye oranla şekil değiştirse de canlılığını koruduğu görülmüştür. Çalışmamızda, Türklerin aile ve evlenmeye verdiği değer saptanmış, daha sonra yörede yaptığımız tespitler ışığında, hayatın dönüm noktalarından biri olan evliliğin içinde yer alan saçı geleneği, toy geleneği, ocak kavramı, gelinci gitme, gelin indirme, kapı eşiğinde yapılan uygulamalar, gelinlik etme ve evlenemeyenlerin yaptıkları pratikler, eski Türk inanç sisteminin sembollerinin içinde belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır.

Abstract
Düzici county of Osmaniye which is located in the region called as upper Cukurova has hosted lots of Turkish tribes during the history. Because of that feature, Turkish cultural elements has kept its existence in the area until the present day. The symbols of ancient Turkish belief system has an important role in these cultural elements, too. It’s seen that the symbols of ancient Turkish belief culture kept alive even if it’s changed in the past. The importance of family and marriage given by the Turkish has been detected; later, by these detections saçı tradition, toy tradition, ocak concept, taking the bride, getting off the bride, things done at the door, being bride which is one of the turning points in life and pratics done by the ones who couldn’t marry has been tried to detect in the ancient Turkish symbols of belief.
