Abstract


VIEWS OF MUSİC TEACHER CANDIDATES ON THEIR 'COMPETENCES IN SPECIAL EDUCATION
Music teachers working with students with special needs should be able to know the personal development features of the individuals, plan the course according to the student's needs and carry out the course accordingly. For this reason, the content and context of the lessons that the candidates of music teachers receive for the education of individuals with special needs have great importance. In this study, it is aimed to determine the competencies of music teacher candidates for the education of students with special needs. In accordance with this purpose, the opinions of the students of the department of music education were received. As a result of the study, it was determined that the music teacher candidates' education hours and class diversity on the matter of the education of the individuals with special needs do not suffice, the knowledge they gained in the course contributes to their professional gains, and the music education applications to be made for the individuals with special needs at the undergraduate level would contribute to the professional competencies of their education.
